An oracle deck from Liminal Learning

Neither/Nor

Type what’s on your mind, draw three cards, and turn each one over. The deck won’t tell you what to do. It helps you think it through, then feel it, until the question looks different.

Ramble. Say it the way you’d say it to a friend at 1 am. Nobody reads this but you; it stays on this device.

Or start from an example (tap to use it, then make it yours):

Right now, with this question, where are you mostly?

You’ll start on the side you’re using least. That’s the one that needs the practice.

How a reading works

  1. Every card has two sides. Neither helps you think it through: the story you’re telling, the frame you’re using. Nor helps you feel it: your body, your senses, this moment.
  2. Draw three cards: the ground (where you stand), the stone (what’s in the way), the step (one small trial).
  3. Each card lands on one side. Sit with it, write a little if you like, then turn it over. You can’t move on until you’ve been to both sides, and you’re welcome to keep turning.
  4. Between cards there’s a short stillness: neither thinking nor doing. Just waiting to see what arrives.
  5. At the end you get your reading back, with one small experiment to try in real life.
Made by Liminal Learning, from the Neither/Nor way of practising: train thinking and feeling on their own, then move between them. If your question is about your safety, please talk to someone now. In Canada, call or text 988.
